- Water Operator
The incumbent performs semi-skilled to skilled maintenance work to support the operations of the street department and performs other technical work as required.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have or be able to obtain within six (6) months Class D Water Operator license.
- Must have or be able to obtain within six (6) months of Class D Wastewater Operator license.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Operational characteristics, services, and activities of Municipal public water and wastewater systems
- Maintain licensing requirements.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Knowledge in safe work practices
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- A Valid Oklahoma Driver License
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form
- Ability to work effectively and respectfully with staff and the public.
- Participate in training sessions to develop or enhance required skills.
NOTICE: This classification is a “safety sensitive” position as defined by the Oklahoma Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act and/or the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana laws. As a “safety sensitive” classification, you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in drug panel screening. Possession of a medical marijuana license will not excuse you from the testing process, or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana.
- Lifeguards
- The City of Fairview Aquatic Center is now accepting applications for lifeguards.
- Successful applicants will be required to provide all Red Cross Certificates prior to the pool opening.
- This is a safety sensitive position.
- Applications may be picked up at the City Office located at 123 S. 6th and will be accepted until the positions are filled.
