The Fairview Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) has the responsibility to recommend the boundaries of the various zones of land throughout the municipality and to develop zoning rules and regulations for each of the various zones.

The Commission shall also hear requests for variances or "use on review" special uses for parcel of land and shall forward their recommendations to the City Council for final determination.

The P&Z Commission is made up of five city residents selected by the City Council, serving for a 3 year term.
